What we collect

We may collect and process certain personal information which is required to fulfil your accommodation request.  Some of this information is given when you submit the online booking enquiry on the website.

Further information is then provided to us when you agree to book the holiday by filling out and emailing us a booking form.

Information we may collect includes:

  • name
  • contact information including email address and mobile number
  • home address
  • other information relevant to a booking enquiry such as number of persons, special requirements, dates requested etc.
  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence

What we do NOT collect

We do not, under any circumstances, collect any personal banking details which may be used in order to secure a booking.

Instead, customers are requested to make payments for any booking using online bank transfer directly to our account.

How we use your personal data

We use the personal data you have submitted to us from either (a) the online enquiry form, or (b) the booking form, to carry out the following tasks:

  • Respond to your online query, which is usually a booking enquiry
  • Generate a completed booking form which constitutes the “contract” between Staffin Holiday Cottage and you, the Customer.
  • email you any correspondence relating to the booking enquiry or the confirmed booking.

Staffin Holiday Cottage website contains links to external websites of interest.

However, once you have used these links to leave our site, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check them before you submit any personal data to these websites.

Retention of Personal Information

We only retain your personal data for as long as we need it to fulfil the purposes for which we have initially collected it, unless otherwise required by law. We will retain and use information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements as follows:

  • Invoice data is kept for a minimum of 6 years as required under UK Law

Upon expiry of the applicable retention period, we will securely destroy your personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
